Alembic are responisble for many of today's accepted building methods such as multilaminate neck through designs, the use of exotic woods for the tops, amazing inlay work and low impedance pickups as well as state of the art electronics. This is an amazing 5 string bass with one of the best low B's we've ever heard (while keeping a familiar 34" scale length). Electronics may look simple, but they are not: you get Volume, Tone and a High Pass Filter knob that allows you to dial in any sound you can imagine, from ultra low (subwoofer like) to midrangey all the way to extra crispy and modern. All the playing techniques sound great, and you get that distinctive Alembic definition. The best sound for tapping that we've ever heard.
