A Fodera bass is always special but this one is even more so as the neck on this one was modelled after Fodera's own Jason Desalvo '64 Jazz Bass and we can say this is one of the most comfortable 4 string necks we've ever tried.

The Deluxe terms means that the neck is set into the body in the usual Fodera dovetail manner. This system allows for the best in tone and access up to the 24th fret.

Some cool extras in this particular bass include a jaw dropping flamed eucalyptus top, CITES approved Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with tulip inlays at the 12th and 24th frets as well as wood covers for the Seyrmour Duncan Dual coils.

It is not easy finding the right words when it comes to describing the feel and sound on a bass but we must say this bass comes really close to perfection in every department. It is lightweight, dynamic, responsive, plays and sounds like a dream...you get the idea.

Action can be set as low as you with with no fretbuzz. This means you can adjust the instrument depending on the techniques you want to use or your playing style instead of you having to adapt to the bass. We feel this is the way it should be.

In Single Coil mode the sound is remarkably famiiar with a nice 60's touch to it. Add a little Bass boost and you'll be in slap heaven.

Switch to Dual Coil and you'll enter a completely different sonic territory. Modern and percussive tones excel in this mode. The bridge pickup in Dual Coil mode with the Passive Tone rolled off is one of the best soloist bass tones we've heard lately.

The excellent Mike Pope Preamp is simply amazing. It gets the job done beautifully and all 3 bands sound musical.

Victor Wooten tried this bass at a recent Bass Player Live event and he just wouldn't let it go...

This bass was built in September 2010 but could almost pass like new. Condition is 9/10. You save a lot of money compared to the price of the same bass if it were built today plus you save the year+ build up date.
