The DB-10 bass is handcrafted at Takamine's pro series facility in Japanwhere precision quality instruments have been built over five decades.

A unique hybrid crossover bass guitar, it retains the 34” scale but the fingerboard has the radius of an upright bass. This allows you to play completely different. It can be played as a regular bass guitar or as an upright with the tail pin extension peg. If you set the endpin lower you can hold the instrument between you legs like you would do on a cello.

This fretless instrument produces a tone heavy and fundamental with the rich harmonics you would expect from an upright bass.

Includes Takamine’s Palathetic™ pickup, known in the industry as one of the most accurate and natural sounding acoustic/electric pickups. The electronic performance package is beyond state of the art with the  CT4-DX Preamp.

You can even use a second pickup and connect it to this preamp. If you only use the onboard Palathetic pickup there's a 4 band EQ and two Notch Filters. When you use an external picku you get a Blend control, 2 band EQ and 1 Notch Filter for each of them. Now, that's unusual but really cool and well thought. A chromatic tuner is included too.
